We’re excited to bring you a hands-on glass engraving workshop. In this 2-hour course, you'll learn how to use a hand drill to engrave on glass. We'll cover the basics of how to use the tool, techniques for applying the design onto glass, using different size burrs (tips), and adjusting the pressure and speed of the engraver to achieve the result you desire. You'll have an opportunity to engrave on a flat piece of glass and round and curved objects.
Calligraphy experience is not necessary to take this class. We'll use lettering examples and basic drawings to learn how to use the engraver.
Equipment is provided for use during class, but it is not included to take home. (You’ll practice with a studio engraver and will have the option to purchase the tool after class if desired.) Glass sheets and other materials — such as bottles and glassware — will be available for students to engrave during and at the end of class. Each student will leave with at least one engraved piece! Worksheets are also included.
Before selecting the date, update the quantity to reflect the total number of crafters in your group.
